Evonna McIntosh is the illustrator and creative force behind the colorful world of Milah's Storybook Corner. As a mother, community advocate, and lifelong creative, she brings each story to life through vibrant illustrations that capture the imagination of young readers. Her goal is to create books and educational experiences that are joyful, inclusive, and inspiring for children and families of all backgrounds.

What is Milah's Storybook Corner?
Milah's Storybook Corner is our family's way of sharing our love for reading, learning, creativity, and adventure with children everywhere. What started as stories inspired by our daughter Milah has grown into a collection of books, educational resources, read-aloud videos, and literacy activities designed to help children fall in love with learning.
Why did you start writing children's books?
As parents, we wanted to create books that reflected the joy, curiosity, and experiences we wanted our daughter to see in the world. We believe every child deserves stories that make them feel seen, valued, capable, and excited to learn.
How can I help my child become a stronger reader?
Read with them every day, even if it's only for a few minutes. Ask questions, talk about the pictures, let them tell parts of the story, and most importantly, make reading fun. Children learn best when reading feels like quality time, not homework.
Why do your books focus on culture, learning, and family?
Because those are the things that matter most to us. We want children to grow up proud of who they are, excited about learning, connected to their families, and curious about the world around them.

What age group are your books written for?
Most of our books are designed for children ages 2 to 8, although we've found that families with older siblings often enjoy reading them together. Our goal is to create stories that are simple enough for young readers while still meaningful enough to spark conversations with parents and caregivers.
Do you offer author visits for schools, libraries, and community events?
Absolutely! We love meeting young readers and sharing our passion for books, storytelling, creativity, and literacy. We offer author visits, read-aloud sessions, literacy workshops, family engagement events, and special presentations for schools, libraries, childcare centers, and community organizations.

Many of them are! Whether it's Milah's first aquarium visit, family travels, cultural celebrations, or everyday learning moments, we often draw inspiration from experiences that have been meaningful in our own lives.
What do you hope children take away from your books?
We hope every child closes one of our books feeling inspired, confident, loved, and ready to explore something new. If our stories help a child smile, ask a question, learn something, or pick up another book, then we've accomplished exactly what we set out to do.
